On 1926 a new fascist regime was implemented in Portugal, and a dictator called Salazar started running the country. There was censorship, misery, killing, a colonial war, among many other things.
On April 25th 1974, the regime was overthrown by soldiers who, by disobeying the dictator’s orders, started a revolution. With the easily gained support from the Portuguese people, the “Carnations’ Revolution” then happened.
I find the way it was carried out very beautiful, and even though this isn’t a great post on the matter, I couldn’t not do it on this special day. I realize I’m a bit late, but here.
I wish you all a very Happy 25th of April. May you think/say/believe in whatever you want, without being killed.

I recently got contact lenses. I got tired of having the glasses on all the time, and having to be careful when touching my hair, and having to clean them constantly when it rains, and not being able to lie down without them sticking in my face… You get the picture.
I went to my doctor to ask if it was okay for me to wear contacts. He said yes, so I went to a small store next door to him to get them. The couple that owns it is really nice, I’ve gotten my glasses there, but truth be told, they aren’t very careful or thorough. I used their lenses for two days before deciding to stop going there. They were very uncomfortable and I couldn’t see in them. I went to a more professional store today and now, I can see!
They are so cool! I sometimes even forget about them, it’s like my eyes are healed and I don’t need anything to see right. It’s not painful at all, as it first seemed to be. It’s the weirdest thing ever, having someone say to you “I poke you in the eye now. Ready?” and respond with an “okay”, but it doesn’t hurt, and you really do forget about them.
Doesn’t my eye look all pretty now?
